Welcome to Wired Internet!

Wired Internet is strictly a revival of the original Wired Internet based in Sacramento, CA.

Wired Internet was originally an ISP serving the Sacramento area of California. Although its time was brief, it left a surprisingly large imprint on USENET, with thousands of people using it as their gateway to the Internet.

This revival does not aim to maliciously impersonate the original Wired Internet, but rather to preserve and continue its legacy for 90s Internet enthusiasts around the world.

We offer various legacy-style services to the general public, including an @wired2.net forwarding E-Mail address, your very own personal web space hosted on this site and access to our IRC at irc.wired2.net, so you too can become part of the continuing history of Wired Internet!

Welcome to Wired Internet, and get Wired2 the .net!

Give a "Hooray!" for Wired Internet's 30th birthday!

The first online purchase was a Pepperoni, Mushroom and extra cheese pizza from Pizza Hut in 1994!
Surfing the web locked up your house's telephone line, so a call from a friend would instantly drop your internet connection.
IRC chats famously used "#" as an indication of a channel, this later inspired Discord's channel format.
IMDb started as a small, independent USENET group and site before Amazon quietly bought it around 1995 with no public announcement.
